Recently read in Training Industry Quarterly “Ezine”, Informal Learning Embraces 2.0 was the following statement regarding information learning“Informal learning in the context of enterprise learning and development, comprises the 65–80 percent of learning which is thought to take place naturally, on the job or in the context of work, and not during formal training.”
This statement indicates the importance of incorporating informal learning, such as Web 2.0 technologies (wiki, blog, mobile blogs, online communities, etc.) into your training. Training initiatives that incorporate collaborative tools and Web 2.0 technologies is the wave of the future.
